  • Provide a voice for all Polk County family caregivers to express the personal needs that affect their respective lives and health -- as well as those of their loved ones.

  • Provide a "help line" to all caregiver support groups.

  • Improve the status of family caregivers by soliciting the assistance of the professionals from the healthcare, legal, medical, legislative, financial, business, political, and other pertinent Polk County community fields.

  • Improve the availability of respite care for family caregivers.

  • Conduct surveys and other related research to obtain data and information that will facilitate support for family caregivers and their loved ones.

  • Organize seminars, workshops, and town hall meetings designed to help educate family caregivers and the Polk County community about the role of caregiving and to define the needs of the family caregiver.

  • Provide access to available family caregiver resources, counseling, advocacy, educational conferences, caregiver research, and related activities.

  • Provide support for family caregivers that is not readily available from any County agency or healthcare provider.
